I’ve always been interested in Apple’s development platforms. When they announced SwiftUI along with iOS 13 in 2019, I decided to dive in and learn a little about how to build apps using this new framework. Once I understood enough of the basics, I designed and built a simple app for myself to make it easier for my wife and I to do some quick on-the-fly budget calculations.
For now, it’s just a handy tool for personal use, but I have some ideas for building out the feature set a bit. I’d like to add support for adding financial goals and getting estimates, as well as the ability to pull in state and federal tax rates automatically. Once SwiftUI matures a bit more, I might invest some more time into building those features and releasing it on the App Store.
